Des Moines "I Have a Dream" Foundation
Des Moines, IA

The Des Moines I Have a Dream Foundation has adopted three classes of Dreamers since its inception in 1990: The Moulton Dreamers Project in 1990; the Oakridge Dreamers Project in 1996, and the King Dreamers Project in 2006. The King Dreamers are currently in high school, and will graduate in 2018.

In 2014, the Des Moines I Have a Dream Foundation also launched a new model for educational support and intervention – the Dreamer Academy. This new Dreamer project uses the foundation of support and success that our first three classes have benefited from, but we’ve adopted an entire elementary school. Support for the Dreamer Academy Dreamers will continue as they progress through Findley Elementary, Harding Middle and North High School, and new students that enter Findley will also be Dreamers.
